It also has so many fun bars and restaurants, mostly because this village is also is an example of the finest Modernist architecture.

The Eixample Neighborhood was created to be an extension of the historic Old Town, as Barcelona’s population grew in the 19th century.
So today you will find the Nobu Barcelona at the border of the historic Barcelona old city – well within walking distance of it.

The Nobu Barcelona is within 20 – 25 minutes of the airport and train station … as well as the beach.

Aura of Staying at the “Hip Nobu Hotel”
Yes we can not deny there is a certain stature in staying at the hip Nobu hotel.
For nearly a third of a century now, the Nobu concept (restaurant first, hotel second) has embodied what was new, hip, and happening in the USA fine dining and hospitality market.
So this was my first Nobu experience … as a hotel.

Nobu in Manhattan and L.A.
As a bi-coastal American living in both Manhattan and Los Angeles, I go to the Nobu Restaurants often.
But it is different in both NYC and Los Angeles.
For example, NYC is a very busy, stressful kind of city.
As soon as the doors of Nobu are open to me on 57th street or in Tribeca, I feel suddenly transported …
… I feel a sense of calm.
And yes, also a sense of the exotic.

The Barcelona Nobu Restaurant
Yet the experience is very different when I visit Nobu restaurant, Barcelona.
It is located on the 23rd floor of the Nobu hotel, with panoramic views of the city and sea.
It may be a “similar” experience that you would find in NYC, LA, or London …
… but because the language is different (unless you speak Spanish) …
–you will find yourself doubly impressed by the realization that you are in your favorite restaurant, with a slightly similar décor … but also in a familiar environment where everyone speaks English.
Why Nobu for a Barcelona Luxury Hotel
There is no other phrase but to say this is a very fun, hip, happening hotel.
I experienced it in Ibiza and now I am experiencing it here too.
Barcelona is filled with exquisite luxury hotels and I love them all.
Some are located near the sea, some are very high-touch, high-end “traditional” luxury hotels ..
But the new Nobu Barcelona hotel has that Je ne sais quoi that somehow makes it stand out.
What is that Je ne sais quoi?
Most luxury hotels in Barcelona have an elegant spa and gym, but the Nobu Barcelona is a bit more cutting edge.
Aside from the Nobu restaurant you are accustomed to, you will also find Kozara, a Japanese inspired tapas bar.
It is all very fun and exciting, so Nobu, welcome to Barcelona.
