Tenute Rubino
Tenuto Rubino owners Luigi and his wife Romina introduced the history of the winery to kick off the evening.
Luigi explained that his father Tommaso Rubino discovered the Italian winery in the 1980s.
The reason is that he wanted to make popular once again the historic Susumaniello grape.

Wines made with Tenuto Rubino’s Susumaniello grapes have proved to be the winery’s strong point this year.
Tenuto Rubino’s 2017 Oltremé displays aromas of spiced black fruit, with assertive tannins and fresh acidity.
The Tenuto Rubino wines were showcased at the Piccola Cucina Uptown restaurant.
Different dishes were paired with the wines.
The dinner started with the excellent sparkling Sumare Susumaniello Metodo Classico 2017
Then the Oltreme Susumaniello. Rosato Salento 2021
Oltreme Doc Brindisi Susumaniello 2010 and Jaddico Doc Brindisi Riserva 207 accompanied the pasta with eggplant and tomatoes.
Torre Testa DOC Brindisi Susumaniello 2017, 2-16, and 2004 accompanied the Rib Eye Steak.
A great evening with well deserved, highly accolated wine.
