Della Vite Prosecco
Della Vite Prosecco – have you heard the name? Currently this luxury branded prosecco is on trend in London. Now it is enjoying its launch in the US Market.
Today I experienced a sparkling lunch (with Della Vite Prosecco, of course) hosted by the Delevingne sisters, who created the brand. Sitting across from me was Poppy Delevingne, a model like her sister Cara. With her flowing long blonde hair and retro pantsuit, Poppy looks like a lovely 1960s flower child.
Della Vite Prosecco is a family project dreamed up by the sisters when they were adolescents (it’s legal to drink in the UK at 18 years). They vowed to one day produce a luxury branded prosecco as a family project.
Because the sisters are sought-after models, they chose to launch their Prosecco during Fashion Week in NYC. Poppy took a major role in helping design the bottle. It’s even her handwriting spelling out the name ‘Della Vite Prosecco.”
Della Vite Prosecco: The Quality Factor
Apart from the gorgeous, sleek bottle, the Prosecco tastes delicious. Many around the world love the sparkle of Prosecco, but the Della Vite team takes care to grow high-quality grapes.
Harvest is by hand, which improves the quality and concentration of the fruit. Tasting the wine, one can detective fresh apple and white peach. In the mouth the texture is creamy.
The Lunch Launch
Il Buco, a trendy Italian restaurant in Manhattan, marked the place of the lunchtime launch orchestrated by The Fifth Column PR. “In our past lives, we were definitely Italian,” says Poppy Delevingne of Della Vite. “We love Italian culture, food, tradition, and history, and we wanted to create something to highlight that love.”
Pasta served garden-fresh vegetables was a great pairing for the Della Vite Prosecco, though it could pair with many other dishes as well.
Light salad, chicken, fish, even many desserts such as a meringue based tart.
Poppy revealed that the Della Vite brand was born over a dinner the sisters had with their family friend, Numa Heathcote.
They decided to search for winemakers who could bring their vision of premium, sustainable Prosecco to life.
Della Vite Prosecco & Sustainability
“Sustainability is at the core of Della Vite’s values, and it was important to us to find a winery that shared those values,” says Cara Delevingne.
“We took our time in finding the perfect partners who understood our vision, and are so proud to have created two exceptional Proseccos that are sustainably produced and certified vegan.”
Della Vite Prosecco comes in two quality levels. The higher quality, Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G, refers to its higher quality given the location of the vineyards and care taken in its production.
They make it only from handpicked Glera grapes, grown on the upper elevation of the valley of Valdobbiadene.
This is a gastronomic wine suitable for enjoying with fine food or on its own.
Della Vite Prosecco Treviso D.O.C more easy drinking, suitable to sip on its own or mix with other ingredients for cocktails.
Final Thoughts: Della Vite Prosecco
It was a pleasure to meet the three sisters who created this delicious family project. Very impressed by the quality of the wine and the thought that went into the product itself as well as its luxurious packaging.
